Wood Packing Material
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will begin enforcement of the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) import regulation for wood packaging material such as pallets, crates, boxes, and etc., on September 16, 2005. The new regulation requires wood packaging materials to be treated and marked. The approved treatments for wood packaging material are a) heat treatment to a minimum wood core temperature of 56C degree for a minimum of 30 minutes or b) fumigation with methyl bromide. C-TPAT Validation
Yamato Transport U.S.A., Inc. has been accepted as a certified member of Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) since September 15, 2003. On February 12, 2004, US Customs and Border Protection audited and validated Yamato. 5700 members have been certified, however, only 137 members were validated last year. Yamato is now proud to announce that we are one of the first brokers/forwarders of 2004 to be validated.
